The City of Hoover does not maintain street lights on residential streets. To report problems with street lights on residential streets, please obtain the light pole number and then contact your Homeowners Association and/or Alabama Power Company at 1-800-245-2244. The City of Hoover maintains street lights on select major roadways including: I-65, I-459, Hwy 31, Hwy 150, Lorna Road and Municipal Drive. To report problems with street lights on these roadways, please contact Engineering at 205-444-7896 or through My Hoover Connect.
To request a new sign, you may submit through My Hoover Connect or contact our engineering department at 205-444-7529. Existing signs are maintained by the Public Works Department and your request can be sent through My Hoover Connect or by calling 205-444-7543. Neighborhood Watch signs can be requested by contacting the Police Department at 205-444-7700.
You may submit your request using My Hoover Connect or you may call 205-444-7543. If the pothole is on a City of Hoover street, our Public Works Department will be able to repair it. However, if it is a county or state maintained street/highway, you will need to contact their street maintenance department.
On residential streets, please obtain the pole number and contact Alabama Power Company at 1-800-245-2244. However, some Homeowners Associations maintain their own street lights. You may check with them as well. The City of Hoover maintains street lights on major roadways such as; I-65 at I-459 Interchange, I-459 at US Hwy 31 Interchange, I-65 at Valleydale Road Interchange, US Hwy 31, AL Hwy 150, Lorna Road, Learning Lane, Galleria Boulevard, Jim Wilson Jr Parkway and Municipal Dr. Contact Engineering at 205-444-7896, Chris Reeves or through My Hoover Connect to report problems with street lights on these roadways.
