It features a professionally developed 5K cross-country course for walking and jogging and is host each year to the Great American Cross Country Race. The park also hosts such annual events as Hoover's own Pet-a-Palooza and Movies in the Park. A large, open grassy area and a two-acre lake with pier accomodate large crowds on evenings and weekends. In 2007, the park was chosen as the location for Hoover's 40th Birthday Celebration. This park was dedicated in 2007 to the memory of our Veterans. There is a large monument commemorating those who have served our country in each of the armed forces. A project is underway to recognize Veterans who have a connection to Hoover. Please click here for more information about our Memorial Pavers Veterans' Park is located at 4800 Valleydale Road adjacent to Spain Park High School. The park is surrounded by a 5K cross country trail with a lake and pond, large playground, beach volleyball courts and two pavilions available for rent to the public.
