An open organization, Friends encourages citizen participation in civic, cultural and charitable activities that may enhance the quality of life in Hoover. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Piccadilly Cafeteria on Highway 31. Speakers have included an Alabama Supreme Court justice, Auntie Litter, a representative from the Alabama Veterans Memorial, and local government officials.
