    Q.  How do I file a complaint about a barking dog?
    A.

    Q.  Is there a list of City of Hoover Ordinances regarding animals?
    A.  yes, please click here to view the list.

    Q.  Does the City of Hoover have a leash law?
    A.  Yes. Your pet must be on a leash attached to the hand of the owner or person in charge unless contained by perimeter boundaries such as above ground or under ground fencing.

    Q.  Do you knock on owners doors to let them know they have an animal running at large?
    A.  No, unless there has been a previous contact with the owner by animal control.

    Q.  What do I do if a neighbors pet continually uses the bathroom on my lawn?
    A.  We encourage you to speak to your neighbor first. Most issues can be resolved in a neighborly fashion.

    Q.  Do you remove wild animals from my attic?
    A. 

We generally only remove wild animals from the premisis when they are sick or injured, however, we are prohibited from entering private residences. For assistance in removing wild animals from inside your home, please contact one of the agencies listed on our Animal Services webpage.
