While we make every attempt to reunite lost pets with their owners, the City of Hoover DOES NOT operate an animal shelter. If we find a pet without tags, they are first scanned for a micro chip and then transported to Vestavia Animal Clinic where they are held a minimum of  (3) three days and a maximum of (7) seven days before being transferred to Shelby County Humane Society for adoption.

If you have lost your pet, please contact Vestavia Animal Clinic directly at 205-823-7485 or contact Hoover Animal Control with the date your animal was lost and a description.
