Where do I report meter readings for my second water meter? |

If you are on Hoover sewer (Riverchase, Southlake, Inverness, Caldwell Crossings, Mill Springs) then your meter reading from the second meter that monitors your sprinkler system should be reported to Hoover Building Inspections. The fax number is 444-7650, the address is Hoover Sewer, 2020 Valleydale Rd., Ste. 103, Hoover, AL 35244. For additional information please call 444-7523.

Who do I call to establish garbage service for my new home? |

Newly constructed homes need to establish garbage service with our Garbage/Trash & Recycling Dept. with Sissy Mitchell at 444-7796. All existing homes have service and it is not necessary to call for service.

Garbage/Trash & Recycling dept. 444-7796. The Garbage Company will pick up debris that the homeowner generators but will not collect any debris that is generated by someone you hires. I.e.: Landscapers, Tree Services, Roofers, and remodeling companies.

If the sign is existing the Public Works Department will replace or repair the sign, but if you are asking for a sign that is not already there you will need to go through the Engineering Dept. 444-7529

Every April for the past 4 years Hoover puts on a Household Hazardous Waste Day that will take paints, oil, old gas & batteries. Date of event will be posted on the website.

Why did they not pick up my recycle bin? |

Usually there are 4 reasons for your recycle bin not being emptied. 1. Not out on time (7 am.) 2. Non-recyclable items in your bin (list of acceptable items under Recycling) 3. To far from street (no more than 1 foot from asphalt) 4. Hidden from sight (shrubs, car, mailbox) needs to be seen coming from either end of street.

Who do I call if there is a wheel off my garbage cart or it is cracked? |

Call 444-7796 the Garbage/Trash & Recycle Department. Carts are owned by the Garbage Company and they are responsible to fix or replace any damaged cart.

If the pothole is on a City street the Public Works Dept. will patch the street, but if it’s a County or State street they will need to be contacted by the caller.
