BEAUTIFY HOOVER GRANT PROGRAM

City of Hoover Grant Applicants:

The beautification of any landscape always adds to the quality of life in any urban setting. As the City of Hoover continues its growth, it is important for its citizens to become involved with this beautification process. The Beautification Board of the city of Hoover (“Hoover Beautification Board”) is pleased to announce its newest program called “Beautify Hoover.” The Beautify Hoover grant program is administered by the Hoover Beautification Board and encourages the landscaping and beautification of properties owned by the City of Hoover through the work of community organizations. The Hoover Beautification Board also hopes that the Beautify Hoover grant program will also serve to build a strong community by developing and nurturing relationships among its citizens.

Through the program, a community organization would select a property owned by the City of Hoover that such organization would like to beautify. The organization would design and plan the project. Thereafter, the community organization would apply for a grant  from the City of Hoover to pay for the costs of materials related to such beautification project. The community organization would be responsible for the design and installation of such project. A limited amount of projects will be funded through this program. The  Hoover Beautification Board will make the final determination as to which projects will be funded. All monies must be spent by September 30, 2011.

All projects must be on public property within the city limits of Hoover. Grants will be awarded based on the benefits of the proposed project to the City of Hoover. Applications must be received by the Hoover Beautification Board on or before February 15, 2011. Winners will be announced as approved, but in no event later than March 1, 2011.
