CDBG-R Grant
AMENDMENT 2 TO 2008 ACTION PLAN
As an entitlement community under Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG program, the City of Hoover has received an entitlement grant of $76,449 under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
On March 12, 2009, the City published notice of a public hearing to receive comment and discuss activities eligible for funding with the award. The public hearing was subsequently held at Hoover City Hall on March 30, 2009. The City has received citizen input and now proposes to utilize CDBG-R grant as follows:
1. Program Administrative Costs $ 1,449.00
2. Expand the Parking Availability /
Accessibility at the Hoover Senior Center $75,000.00
TOTAL: $76,449.00
The proposed Amendment 2 to the 2008 Action Plan is available for public review and comment for a period of 7 days, commencing today, May 26, 2009, and ending at midnight on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The Amendment may be viewed electronically by clicking here. Printed copies of the Amendment are also available during the same time period at the following locations: the Hoover Public Library and Hoover City Hall.
Comments regarding the proposed use of the CDBG-R funds, or any aspect of the Amendment Action Plan, may be submitted in writing and mailed to the City of Hoover, Mayor’s Office, Attention Jan Pearson, 100 Municipal Lane, Hoover, AL 35216. You may also call Ms. Pearson at (205) 739-6859 or email her at pearsonj@ci.hoover.al.us. Comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on June 2, 2009. Barring any unforeseen change, the City anticipates that it will submit the Amendment to the local HUD Office for acceptance no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 4, 2009.
