Household Hazardous Waste Day began in 1999 as a way for Hoover households to safely dispose of paint, batteries, household chemicals, fireworks, ammunition, old tires, and much, much more. In the past 9 years, we have collected almost 3,500 old tires, over 2,700 batteries, and 6,305 gallons of used oil! These products are recycled where possible or disposed of in an enviornmentally sound manner.
