Press Advisory:

City of Hoover announces first shipment of fuel made from The City of Hoover’s Wood Waste

(Hoover, AL) Mayor Tony Petelos and the Hoover City Council announce and invite you to join them on this historical day in the City of Hoover when they will be receiving their first batch of fuel made from Hoover’s very own wood waste (trees, limbs & branches). Hoover, Alabama is the first city in the United States to take its own wood waste and convert it into fuel for its fleet. The fuel was processed by Gulf Coast Energy’s demonstration plant located in Livingston, AL and has been approved by General Motors.

We will be hosting a Press Conference on Thursday, April 16th at 1:30 at the Hoover Fueling Facility located at 2020 Valleydale Road in Hoover, AL. At that time officials will be fueling several General Motors Flex Fuel vehicles with fuel made from Hoover’s very own wood waste.
