NOTICE OF ELECTION OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS

 

 “Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and seven (7) City Council Members for places At Large as follows:

           

Council Place No. One

                                                Council Place No. Two

                                                Council Place No. Three

                                                Council Place No. Four

                                                Council Place No. Five

                                                Council Place No. Six

                                                Council Place No. Seven

 

and the other officers as pursuant to duly enacted law or ordinance, or any or all of the officers, are to be elected at the election for the City of Hoover, Alabama, will be held, and that all registered and qualified electors of the state, who reside within the corporate limits of Hoover, Alabama, and have resided therein for 30 days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of the city in which the elector resides, will be authorized to participate in the election.”

 

“The polls will be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following locations which have been designated pursuant to Section 11-46-24: 

 

1.   Hoover Park & Recreation Center – 600 Municipal Dr., Hoover, Al.

2.   Hoover Public Library – 200 Municipal Dr., Hoover, Al.

3.   St. Peter’s Catholic Church – 2061 Patton Chapel Rd., Hoover, Al.

4.   Oakmont Presbyterian Church – 1817 Patton Chapel Rd., Hoover, Al.

5.   Shades Crest Baptist Church - 452 Park Ave., Hoover, Al.

6.   Bluff Park United Methodist Church – 733 Valley St., Hoover, Al.

7.   Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4600 Moss Creek Blvd., Hoover, Al.

8.   Hunter Street Baptist Church – 2600 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, Al.

9.   Riverchase Church of Christ – 1868 Montgomery Highway., Hoover, Al.

10.   Hoover Fire Station No. VII – 100 Inverness Parkway, Hoover, Al.

11.   Hoover Fire Station No. VIII – 121 Village St., Hoover, Al.

12.   Greystone Farms Clubhouse – 1000 Farmhouse Rd., Hoover, Al.      

13.   Absentee Balloting – Hoover City Hall – 100 Municipal Dr., Hoover, Al.

 If necessary, a run-off election will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Any qualified elector who will have resided within the municipality for a period of at least 90 days on election day may qualify to run for office by filing the appropriate forms and paying any appropriate fees, as otherwise provided by law.
