- Erosion Control Bond – An Erosion Control Bond is required for all commercial projects involving land disturbing activity. Hoover requires a specific bond form. These forms are available by calling 205-444-7586. For Clearing and Grading, the required bond amount is $3,000 per "disturbed" acre or portion thereof. If clearing only, the required bond amount is $1,000 per "disturbed" acre or portion thereof. Erosion Control Bonds should not have an expiration date. An Erosion Control Bond may be required by the City for up to one year after completion date of project. This time is often needed to determine the degree to which land has stabilized on the site. Under certain circumstances, bonds may be released prior to the expiration of the one-year period.
- Landscape Bond – A landscape bond is required for all new commercial projects and may be required when making an addition to an existing structure. Hoover requires a specific bond form. The bond may be required to remain on file for one year after completion of the project.
- Subdivision Bond – Subdivision Bond amounts are set by the Hoover Planning & Zoning Commission based upon each specific situation and the City Engineer’s recommendation. Under certain circumstances, Subdivision Bonds may be reduced thereafter.
