Clearing Permits

If property within Hoover is be cleared and/or graded, a Clearing and Grading Permit is required prior to commencing such work.

The prerequisites for obtaining a Clearing and Grading Permit are as follows:

  • A completed Clearing and Grading Permit Application
  • A survey of the property - the area of land disturbance and the proposed erosion control measures should be drawn or overlaid on this survey 
  • If the property is located in Greystone, Meadowbrook, Ross Bridge or Lake Cyrus, the Architectural Control Committee's stamp of approval is required on the survey/plans. 
  • If the property is not  located within the subdivisions specified above, landscaping plans must be submitted to ensure compliance with the Hoover Tree and Landscaping Ordinances (i.e. tree save areas, etc.) and/or measures to ensure compliance must be noted on the survey. For clearing only, an erosion bond of $1,000 per acre or portion disturbed must be submitted at time of application.  For clearing & grading, an erosion bond of $3,000 per acre or portion disturbed must be submitted.  Please link to Bond Requirements and Information for additional information.
