P.L.A.Y (Productive Leisure Activities for the Young) This pre-school program for 3-5 year olds with disabilities is offered in three week sessions several times a year and meets on Thursdays at the Hoover Recreation Center. The activities of this program center around structured play sessions and focus on recreation, leisure, social and educational development through arts and crafts, fine/gross motor activities, music and movement, language based activities and socialization.

 | Movin' On Movin' On is an after school program for elementary and middle school students that focuses on development in the areas of sports, arts & crafts, social skills and decision making.This program meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Hoover Recreation Center. |
R.E.A.C.T (Responsible, Energetic, Activities that Challenge Teenagers) This after school program for high school students focuses on developing skills in areas that challenge teenagers today. Group games and activities are designed to focus on social skills, money management skills, leisure education, socialization, creativity and physical activity. This program meets on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at the Hoover Recreation Center. |  |
 | C.O.R.E. (Community Outings with Recreational Experiences) C.O.R.E. focuses on developing time management, money management, and decision making skills and meets one Friday a month. The ultimate goal for participants is independence. Additional outings may be offered during the program year. C.O.R.E is open to high school students and young adults participating in our other programs. |
Hoover Hurricanes Swim Team This program is for individuals who have the ability to swim one length of the pool and are interested in improving technique and endurance. Swimmers practice twice a week to develop breathing techniques and improve swim strokes. Participants in this program have the opportunity to compete in a variety of swim meets including, but not limited to, the Hoover Invitational Swim Meet and Special Olympics State Games. This program is open to swimmers of all ages. |  |
 | Team Sports Team Sports is a program for teenagers and adults focuses specifically on athletic skill development. Participants are introduced to a wide variety of sports and learn to work as part of a team. Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in games as well as tournaments if they choose. This program meets twice a week on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

Rhythmic Gymnastics The Rhythmic Gymnastics program offers participants the opportunity to improve flexibility, strength and coordination while cultivating friendships, promoting creativity and emphasizing team spirit. Participants practice once a week to develop new skills and learn routines. Athletes will also have the opportunity to compete in the sport if they choose. This program is open to girls ages 8 and up.

| Express Yourself! Art Express Yourself! is an art program aimed at providing new opportunities for individuals who are unable to express themselves through traditional art methods. Artists who are unable to to use their hands work with a "tracker" who will be their arms and hands to create their work of art. This program is an opportunity for individuals with the most significant physical disabilities to make decisions and explore new recreational outlets. This program meets twice a month.
