Probation

The Hoover Municipal Court Probation program is administered by Judicial Correction Services under the supervision of the Municipal Court's Probation Coordinator.  We offer two types of probation and depending on your circumstances you will fall into one or both.

Punitive Probation:  This type of probation is included in your sentence in lieu of spending time in jail.  The judge will set a term of probation and you must serve that term out.  At the conclusion of your probation term, your probation will be terminated.

Payment Probation:  This is when you are eligible to pay your fine/costs/fee/restitution and have your jail sentence suspended but whatever reason you cannot pay in full on the day of court.  The Judge will place you on probation but as soon as you have paid in full, your probation will be terminated.

What to expect when being placed on probation: You will meet with your probation officer in court.  The probation officer will have you fill out a form with all of your information and will take your picture and then review the terms of probation including payment amount and give you reporting information.  You will be expected to meet with your probation officer at least once a month for the duration of your probation term.

What to do if you miss your probation appointment: Immediately call your probation officer at 205-942-9450.

What do if you have a Probation Violation Warrant:  You will need to turn yourself in into the Hoover City Jail and post bond.
