Saturday, April 30, 2011 Donations being collected for storm victims at Celebrate Hoover Day. HOW TO HELP: Bring a case of bottled water, canned goods & non-perishable food, toiletries and diapers to be donated to the victims. A donation drop-off point will be located at a tractor trailer in the Spain Park High School parking lot. Also, UAB University Hospital/American Red Cross will be on-site collecting blood donations. Rain date: Sunday, May 1, 2011 Veterans Park on Valleydale Parking at Spain Park High School with shuttle service provided Celebrate Hoover Day is the City of Hoover’s annual city-wide celebration. Make plans to attend this family-friendly event that will appeal to all age groups! Admittance, shuttles and all activities are FREE! Featured activities include: Annual veterans memorial plaza dedication – 1:30 pm Live entertainment Car show GIANT apple pie and Blue Bell ice cream Enjoy a slice of Alabama’s largest apple pie measuring 10’3" and baked in a 12’ X 12’ convection oven right at the park! Blue Bell Creameries will provide the scoop of ice cream to complete your delicious treat! Kids Zone Hoover Police Department displays Hoover Fire Department displays Exhibitor Pavilion Visit the Expansive Exhibitor Pavilion that includes more than 120 booth displays featuring Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce members and Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce members. To register for a booth, please complete the REGISTRATION FORM and submit no later than Friday, April 22, 2011. The cost of the booth is $100 and includes space under a large tent, six foot skirted table, two chairs and exhibitor sign. Exhibitors must be a Hoover or Shelby County Chamber member. Non-profit organizations may participate. There are no opportunities for arts and crafts vendors at this time.
