City of Hoover Waives Sales Tax Payments for Businesses

Effective immediately, the City of Hoover is waiving municipal sales tax late payment penalties both for small retail businesses, whose monthly retail sales during the previous calendar year averaged $62,500 or less, and taxpayers currently registered with the City as engaging in NAICS Sector 72 business activities, which includes restaurants and other food service providers.
The City is also waiving municipal late payment penalties for lodgings taxes. Late payment penalties will be waived for these taxpayers through June 1, 2020.
This relief does not waive or extend normal tax filing requirements.
