The City of Hoover is committed to sharing responsible resources for information regarding the COVID-19 event. We are currently following guidelines established by the CDC and the Alabama Department of Public Health. This page contains important information about what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones, and stay informed of the latest developments regarding local and national health.

Need to Get Tested?

UAB and the Jefferson County Dept. of Health have announced a new COVID-19 testing site will open Monday, March 23, 2020, in Birmingham. Patients MUST make an appointment in order to receive a test. Patients will be seen from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. seven days a week.

Call 205-975-1881 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

The testing site is located at the corner of University Boulevard and 22nd Street South.

The State of Alabama has issued a Shelter-in-Place order, effective April 4, 2020 @ 5:00 pm.

This order requires that citizens stay at home, with certain exceptions allowed. Click here to read the order.
